How to set a hosted application to always open on one particular screen

How to set a hosted application to always open on one particular screen

ISSUE

Hosted applications such as Sage, Quickbooks, Excel, etc... do not retain their screen positions across sessions.

WORKAROUND

Set your default monitor

Set the monitor as your default monitor where you want your application to always open

Advantages

Once you set your secondary screen or the monitor where you want hosted application to open by default, all the other sub-menu and multiple windows of this application open on this screen. If you previously set those windows to open on the other screen you might have to move them for the first time.

Disadvantages

All other applications will open on this screen by default

How to change the default monitor

            a. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop then click on Display settings

            b. Select the monitor you would like to set as default --> Scroll down and click on "Make this my main display"

Relocate Hosted Application

Move the hosted window application to the screen where you always want it to open

Advantages

You do not need to change the default screen and other programs will continue to open on the monitor as before

Disadvantage

Few sub windows might not respect the screen setting which means, if you move them from first screen to the other and the close and reopen they might still open on first screen

How this works?

Simply make sure the application such as sage or QuickBooks are not maximized, then move then to the screen you want them to open on, then maximize it. (please keep the disadvantages in mind)
