Problems with version 8.0.32 for Microsoft Remote Desktop Client

Problem:
When connecting to remote resources using a Mac, on the latest version (8.0.32) (as of 05/31/2016), users may experience sporadic behavior on the screen refresh and of the mouse.

Reason:
This problem has been discovered as a result of the latest update of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for Mac.

Solution:
Until Microsoft releases the next updated version, the workaround would be to revert back to the previous version of the Remote Desktop Client for Mac.

This is attached to this article. (towards the bottom of the article, click the "Attachments" tab)

Once downloaded please follow these steps:
  • Make sure that your Remote Desktop Client application is closed.
  • Navigate to your "Applications" folder on your Mac
  • Move the existing Microsoft Remote Desktop Client application to your trash
  • Unzip the newly downloaded version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop on your desktop
  • Move the resulting file back into the "Applications" folder on your Mac.

Once that is in place, you can launch the client again, and you should be operational at that point.
