AppDashboard Termination by Antivirus or Security Software

Issue Description

Sometimes, the AppDashboard application may be terminated immediately after launch by antivirus or security software on your computer.

How to Identify the Issue

If the AppDashboard is installed on your computer but fails to open after you double-click it, the antivirus or security software may be falsely identifying it as an unsafe application and terminating it. To verify this, follow the steps below:

  1. Launch Task Manager:

    • Right-click on the taskbar.
    • Select Task Manager.
  2. Switch to the Details Tab:

    • In the Task Manager window, click on the Details tab.
  3. Attempt to Open AppDashboard:

    • Double-click the AppDashboard icon on your desktop.
    • Observe the Task Manager.
  4. Monitor Task Manager:

    • When you double-click AppDashboard, it should briefly appear in the Task Manager.
    • If it disappears shortly after appearing, it indicates that the antivirus or security software is terminating it.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, ask your IT department to whitelist the AppDashboard application. It is installed in the following directory:

 C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
