Strikethroughs on PDF after exporting from Excel in Sage Intelligence

Strikethroughs on PDF after exporting from Excel

Problem

When you using Sage Business Intelligence and using the Excel Add-In, the data content looks correct, and displays properly. However, when the data is exported as a PDF, all the formula cells display as strikethroughs

Reason

When exported to PDF, Excel formulas can show strikethroughs due to a new feature called "Stale Value Formatting". This visual indicator is intended to warn users that a formula's value is outdated and needs to be recalculated

Solution

  1. Click on the Formulas tab on the top ribbon of Excel
  2. Click on Calculation Options
  3. Change it from Automatic or Manual to Partial
  4. Make sure the Format Stale Values box is also unchecked
  5. Try exporting to PDF again and the strikethroughs should be gone
