Sage Intelligence Add-in giving error or not showing up in Excel

Sage Intelligence Add-in giving error or not showing up in Excel

Problem:
When running Sage Intelligence requiring the Excel add-in, an exception error is shown to the user, or the add-in does not show up in Excel

Reason:
The likely reason for this problem is that the Excel Add-in is not registered correctly.

Resolution:
To fix this problem, the Excel Add-in for the report designer needs to be enabled in Excel.
  1. Open up the hosted Microsoft Excel, then navigate to File -> Options

  2. Click on "Add Ins", then select the "COM Add-Ins" and click "Go". In the resulting Window, make sure that the report designer is checked. If it is already checked, uncheck it, click ok, then reopen the "COM Add-Ins" and recheck it again, then click ok.
Please note that if the Report Designer Add-in does not show up in the "COM Add-ins" screen, you can add it, by click on the "Add..." button, then navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BIExcelFunctions\32bit\Sage.BI.ExcelFunctions.dll

  3. Now, open the "Excel Add-ins" from the dropdown, then click "Go...", then make sure that the Report Designer Add-In  is checked. If it is already, uncheck it, click ok, then reopen the "Excel Add-ins", and recheck it, then click ok.

Now, the Sage Intelligence Add-In should load up correctly.
